Job Description

Position Summary: The DOT Manager will help direct a dynamic team who aspire to deliver solutions and provide support to our team of 1,400+ employees in 80 locations in the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with HCC personnel to manage compliance with DOT regulations, the driver qualification process, driver safety, and to track, monitor and manage the Company’s CSA scores.  The effective leader will drive increased efficiency and measurable improvement. 

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee the process and ensure accuracy of the Driver Qualification system and communicate as required to EHS Management, Operations and Sales personnel.
  • Oversee and manage compliance of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD), Hours of Service (HOS), IFTA and GPS data and provide summary reports to the field and upper management
  • Maximize the effectiveness of fleet telematics and coaching applications
  • Track and report all DOT violations, inspections, traffic violations, and citations
  • Track and monitor CSA and other governmental program scores/trends and proactively develop programs necessary to drive improved scores and DOT compliance  
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with Safe Driver programs
  • Coordinate with field management on corrective actions for non-compliance
  • Oversee and manage the manual reporting systems for driver logs/fuel dispatch reports
  • Interface with and manage third party vendors that assist HCC in DOT compliance as it relates to HCC drivers.
  • Ensure roadside inspections are properly managed and all data is entered into Intelex
  • Work fluidly with other EHS Managers to drive efficiency within the department

              Work Experience

  • 2+ years DOT/transportation-related work experience minimum
  • Electronic Logging Device (ELD) experience required
  • Previous CDL experience a plus

           Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

           Specific Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

 Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works indoors, and may be required to sit for long periods. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Noise level of the environment is generally quiet.
