Job Description


Heritage - Crystal Clean LLC, a leader in the environmental services industry, is looking for a self-motivated team player to join our Used Oil Re-Refinery in Indianapolis IN. 

Purpose: The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for first and foremost, conducting his/her work in a safe manner at all times. They manage the Shipping & Receiving department which consists of receiving all inbound materials, shipping all outbound materials and inter-tank bulk material movement as it pertains to Re-Refinery Operations and Environmental Services - Bulk Materials. They are required to become proficient in and be expected to support and all areas of the department where critical leadership is deemed a necessity. This would include but is not limited to having a sound knowledge of product types, department rules, PSM, Safety, Environmental, Quality and technical skills relative to plant equipment and process. They have the responsibility to make sure all Shipping & Receiving employees are trained and qualified. They continually improve and develop training documents, procedures and continually enhance the department employee’s knowledge through training. Schedule: 40+ hours, salaried.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in own work area
  • Reporting KPIs for the Shipping & Receiving department
  • Maintain energy control procedures and standardize energy control procedures, operating procedures and blind list.
  • Maintaining master control documents related to the department.
  • Review shift documentation, inventories and check for completeness.
  • Ensure their team members are on-time to and from work, lunches, breaks, etc. Coaching and discussions around team building are expected.
  • Attends meetings (as directed) on a timely basis and where needed and speak to their respective area.
  • Models exemplary behavior that supports sound business and ethical standards.
  • Adjust work schedules as required to achieve production, and maintenance schedules.
  • The ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers.
  • Develop ways and means to operate more effectively, including the Office Staff.
  • Conduct yearly employee reviews.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and standards including but not limited to environmental and regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment, operations and maintenance.
  • Participate in safety and other meetings.

 Other Duties

  • Oversee office staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by Re-Refinery Manager

 Specific Skills

  • Safe working experience.
  • Railcar, loading and unloading experience.
  • Strong Mathematical and Mechanically reasoning ability
  • The ability to work in team-based environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • FRA Safety experience
  • CSX or equivalent experience
  • RCRA experience


Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • 5 years in tanker, railcar, loading or unloading experience.
  • 5 years in a management role. 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Designations or Memberships

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
