Job Description

Purpose: In the emerging field of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) administration, the ELD Specialist will provide administrative support on behalf of HCC’s EHS Department. This person will serve as the primary point of contact, providing support to HCC’s field-based sales team utilizing ELD equipment and is responsible for managing all aspects of ELD ordering, shipment tracking, installation, set-up, training, support and hardware inventory. This person will provide guidance for hours-of-service (HOS) compliance by reviewing driver logs, both by reports and driver email or phone call interaction, to reflect reality and maintain proper compliance.  This person will also support business growth by providing additional support to our Fleet Services department.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures Safety is the main priority by following, communicating and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting ELD usage, training and hardware issues
  • Coordinate ELD installations and perform all backend setup
  • Manage and maintain inventory of all ELD equipment across multiple locations
  • Develop driver and staff training materials
  • Training drivers on the proper use of the ELD system
  • Provide training to staff locally and remotely
  • Work closely with the ELD vendor’s Customer Success Manager (CSM) and support team to resolve outstanding issues
  • Maintain reporting of all issues encountered and all steps taken for resolution
  • Monitor equipment recovery efforts
  • Examine status of outstanding service tickets using company ticketing system
  • Communicate effective to keep management informed of outstanding issues
  • Provide guidance on any HOS compliance inquires from the
  • Responsible for coordination and upload of information for vehicles, drivers and other information into the ELD system.
  • Ability to track, edit and sort incoming data and disburse to appropriate personnel for action
  • Implementation and audit of alerts, reports and supporting documents to ensure drivers are compliant with internal policies and FMCSA regulations
  • Responsible for collecting data, organizing and converting for use in reports
  • Set up and coordinate project update and status meetings
  • Understand ELD rule requirements
  • Become familiar with GPS tracking, route optimization and commercial navigation
  • Communicate with stakeholders, management and drivers
  • Provide customer support to our field-based sales team
  • Assist as needed with filing and scanning of various forms

Work Experience

  • Previous FMCSA & DOT Hours-of-Service (HOS) & ELD rules and regulations preferred
  • Logistics and/or dispatch experience ideal
  • Trucking industry experience and knowledge helpful

 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

 

Specific Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

 

Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works indoors and may be required to sit for long periods. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Noise level of the environment is generally quiet.
