Job Description


The Drum Processing Supervisor reports directly to the Shipping & Receiving Manager and is responsible for the effective management of the drum processing activities at the Re-Refinery.  This position will work closely with the Raymond St. Shift Supervisors and HUB Manager to ensure the effective flow of drums from one facility to another.  The personnel assigned to the 10th St. facility will report directly to this person and he/she will direct and coordinate all processing activities.  The Drum Processing Supervisor will evaluate the processing activity including identifying the processing limitations and capabilities of staff and equipment to effectively process all received materials and achieve the Company’s goals.  This position will work closely with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to clear tank space and plan activities in order to ensure an effective processing flow.  This position is responsible for all Upper Warehouse personnel and oversees their activity on a daily basis. This person is responsible for inventory management and reporting of the activities of the Upper.  

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions.
  • Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all employees and activity.
  • Outlines daily/weekly/monthly objectives and activity for 10th drum processing employees after consultation and cooperation with Raymond St. supervisory staff and Indianapolis Distribution Hub Manager.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records of Re-Refinery drum processing activity.
  • Delivers training and counseling to employees to promote personal and employment growth.
  • Ensure that the department is staffed, including leading the hiring process.
  • Assists in various job capacities to support efficient operations, when necessary.
  • Coordinate scheduling of those essential tankers and box trailers in to and out of the Re-Refinery.
  • Develop procedures and oversee training of all employees under his/her supervision
  • Follows Company policies and procedures and promotes compliance with same amongst her/his reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Shipping & Receiving Manager.

             Work Experience

  • 5 or more years of facility operations experience, with emphasis on bulk material distribution and having a career path showing increasing responsibility
  • Well-developed analytical skills with reference to evaluation of operating data, development of operations trends, systems operations and expense control efforts
  • Experienced in operating in a regulated environment
  • Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement systems
  • Proven change management skills and organization to achieve goals

             Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience as noted above

 Specific Skills:

  • Shipping and Receiving/Distribution experience
  • Operations management experience
  • Shipping and Receiving management experience
  • Knowledge of Word and Outlook Required
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access required
  • Excellent communicator

Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works both outdoors and indoors, with moderate physical activity including, walking, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds and climbing. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
